Question: What design services do you offer?
Answer: We offer a wide range of design services with a focus on illustrations, graphic design and layouting, as well as (book) cover art.

Answer: Yes. You can check out our samples on our website under Design Services, or contact us to request more specific samples.

Question: What industries do you typically work with?
Answer: We work with a variety of clients from different industries, primarily Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs); State-Owned Enterprises (SEOs); Government Ministries; and Energy companies.

Question: How long has B/NDL Studios been providing design services?
Answer: Our journey began in 2017 as the custom publishing arm of Indonesia’s most prominent English-language media company, The Jakarta Post.

Question: Do you also provide services to develop brand guidelines?
Answer: No.

Question: Do you provide services to develop presentation templates or key visual guidelines?
Answer: No.

Question: Can you provide a design mock-up or dummy prior to hiring?
Answer: Yes.
However, we do not provide a design mock-up or dummy for every potential client. We are quite selective regarding projects that require a design mock-up or dummy. It is best to check with our consultants regarding this matter.

Question: Do you have your own in-house photographers?
Answer: No, we don’t. However, we work with a team of freelance photographers.

Question: Do you provide services to create company logos and stationery?
Answer: No, we don’t. But we do provide services to create marketing collateral, e.g. posters, mugs, clothing, hats, etc.

Answer: No.
PROCESS AND COLLABORATION

Question: What is your design process like?
Answer: Our design process is structured around collaboration and creativity to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.
We start with a discovery meeting to understand the specifics of the project, and the target audience.
Then, we follow up with concept development and design execution.
Based on the client’s feedback, we will continue to refine and revise the design until the final delivery.

Question: Can clients be involved in the design process?
Answer: Yes. Our client’s involvement in the design process is crucial to the success of the project deliverables.
The client’s feedback is integral to guiding the project, which is why we always set up checkpoint meetings to ensure our clients are actively participating throughout the process.

Question: What happens if the client is not satisfied with the initial design?
Answer: When the client is not satisfied with our deliverables, we use this as an opportunity to better understand their preferences and requirements.
We would encourage our clients to provide specific feedback and insights on what particular aspects our deliverables are not meeting their expectations.
Based on these feedback and insights, we will make the necessary revisions and present new iterations.
Our goal is to ensure the client’s satisfaction, which is why we provide couple rounds of revisions for each project to guarantee the final output is aligned with the client’s vision.
PROJECT SPECIFICS

Question: How long does a typical design project take?
Answer: The duration of each design project depends on its complexity and scope, but typically a standard project takes between 2-6 weeks from the initial kick-off to the final deliverables.
We can also adjust our timelines to accommodate quicker turnarounds when necessary.

Question: What do you need from the client to get started?
Answer: We typically need a written brief and project scope to be signed off by the client in order to avoid miscommunication.
Afterward, we would need the sercive agreement to be signed before a design project is to start.

Question: How many design revisions are included in your service?
Answer: It depends on the project, but typically we provide 2 minor design revisions and 1 medium revision.
A major revision that is conceptual in nature may be subject to additional fees.

Question: What is your process in developing infographics? Does your service include data crunching and collection?
Answer: Our process for developing infographics focuses on design and visual storytelling based on the data and analysis you provide.
While we do not offer data crunching, analyzing, or collection services, we excel in transforming your pre-analyzed data into compelling and visually engaging infographics.
We work closely with you to ensure that the final product accurately represents your data in a clear and impactful way, aligning with your objectives and brand identity.

Question: Do you provide all the necessary files upon project completion?
Answer: Upon completion of your project, we provide all the necessary files for use and distribution, including high-resolution images and formats suited for web and print.
However, we typically retain the master files to ensure brand consistency and quality control in any future modifications or iterations.
If your project requires the master files for specific purposes, we can discuss arrangements to meet those needs under certain conditions.

COPYRIGHT AND OWNERSHIP

Question: Who owns the final design and associated files?
Answer: Upon completion of the project and full payment, ownership of the final design and associated files is transferred to you.
This means you have the exclusive rights to use, reproduce, and modify the design as needed for your business purposes.
We ensure that all ownership rights are clearly outlined in our contracts to provide clarity and protect your interests.

Question: Do you keep the rights to design elements created for the client’s project?
Answer: We transfer the ownership of the final design elements to you upon project completion; however, we retain the right to use completed projects and any associated design elements in our portfolio and for promotional purposes.
This helps us showcase our work and capabilities to potential clients. If you have specific privacy or exclusivity needs, we are happy to discuss and accommodate them.
COSTS AND PAYMENTS

Question: How do you price your design services?
Answer: Our pricing is based on the scope, complexity, and duration of each project.
We typically offer project-based rates to ensure transparency and predictability in costs.
Before beginning any work, we provide a detailed quote that outlines all expected charges based on your specific requirements.

Answer: Yes, we require a 50% deposit to commence work on your project.
This initial payment secures your spot in our schedule and covers initial expenses related to your project.
The remaining balance is due upon project completion, which is the final approval of the design assets.
This deposit ensures commitment on both sides and smooth progression of the project phases.

Question: What are your payment terms?
Answer: Our payment terms are straightforward: we require a 50% deposit upfront to begin work on your project, with the remaining 50% due upon completion, before the final deliverables are handed over.
This structure helps manage resources effectively while ensuring commitment and satisfaction from both sides throughout the project period.

Question: Are there any additional fees I should be aware of?
Answer: Our pricing is comprehensive, but certain scenarios may incur additional fees, such as requests for expedited delivery, extensive revisions beyond the agreed scope, or additional features not initially specified.

Answer: We focus exclusively on design and do not provide web hosting or web management services.
However, we can recommend reliable partners who specialize in these areas to ensure that your website is hosted securely and managed efficiently.
